Job summary

UnitedHealth Group, via Assured Home Health/LHC Group, seeks a Speech Therapist to assess and treat speech and language disorders, swallowing issues, and cognitive impairments in home health patients across Oregon.

You will develop and implement treatment plans, provide interventions to improve patient well‑being, and educate patients, families, and care teams. A current Oregon license, CPR certification, and reliable transportation are required to succeed.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed to practice Speech Therapy in Oregon.
• CPR certification is required.
• Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle or reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provides services within the scope of practice as defined by state laws governing the practice of speech therapy, in accordance with the plan of care, and in coordination with other health care team members.
• Evaluates the patient’s level of function using diagnostic/prognostic tests and assists in developing the therapy plan of care.
• Treats patients to help them communicate effectively according to their condition and standard of practice.
• Observes, records, and reports patient responses to treatment and changes in condition to the supervising nurse/physician.
• Instructs patient, family, caregiver and health care team in speech therapy areas appropriate for participation.
