Job summary

North Shore Medical Center is seeking a part-time Speech-Language Pathologist (CCC/SLP) to evaluate and treat patients with speech and swallowing disorders. The clinician will perform assessments, develop therapy plans, and collaborate with physicians and nurses to optimize patient outcomes.

The role requires current Florida licensure (SLP) with CPR/BLS, and experience with videofluoroscopy is preferred for acute care cases.

Qualifications

• Active Florida licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (or provisional)
• Current BLS certification required
• Experience with videofluoroscopy swallow evaluation preferred (acute care)
• FEES experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Perform testing and evaluation procedures for speech and swallowing disorders.

Seeking a CCC/SLP- Part Time

Our primary function is to offer continuous nursing, medical, and other health and social services on a 24-hour basis, under physician directed care and RN supervision.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs testing and evaluation procedures on patients to assess disabilities, injuries and diseases as related to speech and/or swallowing disorders. Uses a variety of therapeutic techniques according to the prescription of a physician to promote functional independence and improve quality of life. Other duties may be assigned as needed by the supervisor.

CUSTOMER SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs duties and conducts interpersonal relationships in a manner designed to project a positive image of the department and the hospital. Works with supervisor/manager and other members of section or department to promote a harmonious work environment. Ensures that all contacts with patients, the public, physicians and other hospital personnel are carried out in a friendly, courteous, helpful and considerate manner. Answers telephones in a prompt and courteous manner. Displays concern and provides assistance or explains procedures as appropriate to callers or in face-to-face situations. Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers. Works with customers to identify problem areas and recommend solutions.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (including required licenses/certifications, education and job knowledge/experience):

• Current FL Licensed Speech Language Pathologist or Provisional SLP License
• Current BLS Certification
• Experience in Video Fluoroscopy Swallowing Evaluation is preferred for Acute Care
• FEEs experience a plus

Must be able to pass Background and Drug Test screenings.
