South Shore Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center in Rockland is seeking a full-time Speech Therapist. Up to $55 an hour with weekly pay.

You will assess patients, develop care plans, provide direct treatment, supervise staff, and participate in the clinical team process to ensure high-quality care.

Qualifications

Job description

South Shore Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center in Rockland is looking for a full-time Speech Therapist!

Up to $55 an hour with weekly pay. South Shore is a 96-bed skilled nursing facility.

You provide patient/resident assessment, care planning, direct treatment, and consultation to a general rehab caseload; participate in the clinical team process; provide teaching and training to caregiver staff; and supervise other assistants, aides, and students as required.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor of Science or Master of Science Degree in Speech Therapy.
• Current licensure by the applicable state agency.
• Two (2) years of clinical experience in long-term care preferred.
• CEU’s per state licensure requirements.
• Newly licensed therapists welcome!

Duties & Responsibilities

• Screens patients/residents.
• Evaluates patients/residents and develops appropriate care plans.
• May perform additional assigned administrative duties such as: assigning and overseeing resident care activities, medical record oversight, assuring execution of physician orders, ordering supplies, etc.
• Under a physician’s order, provides direct resident treatments in accordance with an established plan of care. Treatment venue includes individual, supervised and group.
• Contributes to the team meeting and decision-making process as defined by the program.
• Consults with and trains patients/residents and caregivers.
• Monitors efficiencies on an ongoing basis in collaboration with supervisor.
• Documents activities according to the company’s clinical documentation system on a timely basis.
• Demonstrates consistent knowledge and application of Medicare and other reimbursement regulations.
• Communicates effectively with patients, residents, team members, customers and supervisor.
• Participates in clinical program development and implementation.
• Participates in the training and orientation of other staff.
• Demonstrates ability for continuous new learning to remain current in the field.
• Complies with facility Privacy Practices policies and procedures and protects residents’ individual health information.
• May perform additional duties as requested by supervisor.
• Participates in quality improvement activities.
• Responsible for service and operational excellence of all assigned activities to ensure the delivery of quality services and/or outcomes required to meet or exceed the expectations of those utilizing or impacted by the department.
