Job summary

Powerback in Roanoke, VA, is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to help patients communicate, swallow, and recover function through individualized rehab plans.

You will design and implement therapy, monitor progress, and collaborate with therapists and care teams to ensure seamless, patient-centered care. You’ll also mentor patients and caregivers to promote independence and effective communication.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, or similarly-titled area that is consistent and acceptable to ASHA.
• Licensed, certified or credentialed, as required in the state of practice.

Responsibilities

• Help patients communicate, swallow, and work to diminish or remediate disorders or deficits through rehab services.
• Design the plan and work with patients to execute those plans.
• Address the whole patient and see them as an individual to design a program that restores speech and communication abilities.
• Be adaptable to patient needs and collaborate with peers; make referrals when needed.
• Act as a teacher to train patients and caregivers on skills for independence and productivity.

As a Speech Language Pathologist, you help patients get their power back. You are the person who can help people communicate, swallow, and work to diminish or remediate disorders or deficits. In doing this, you take responsibility for the effective and efficient delivery of rehab services, you design the plan, and work with patients to execute those plans.
