Job summary

Tarboro Health & Rehabilitation is seeking a flexible, resourceful Speech Therapist to join our team. The Speech Therapist's responsibilities include performing patient assessments, developing individual treatment plans, working with patients, family members, and other healthcare professionals, to administer therapy and monitor progress.

The Speech Therapist will ensure patients and families are informed of new treatments and therapy techniques.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in speech therapy or speech-language pathology.
• Relevant license and certification.
• Experience with certain disorders and the geriatric population is beneficial.
• Sound understanding of speech-related disorders and treatments.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Resourcefulness and strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, screen, and prevent language, speech, and swallowing disorders.
• Communicate with patient and liaise with family and physicians to design effective treatment plans.
• Use therapies in combination with innovative techniques to provide the best care.
• Educate patients and families on speech disorders and available therapies.
• Provide detailed documentation on patient history and progress.
• Evaluate progress and adjust therapy programs as required.
