Job summary

Texas Rehabilitation of Plano is opening a brand-new inpatient rehabilitation facility in 2026. We are seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to assess, plan, and provide care that aligns with physician orders and the established plan of care.

Ideal candidates hold a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, are eligible for ASHA CFY or licensure, and have current BLS/CPR certification. This PRN role offers meaningful contributions to patient outcomes in a dynamic, patient-centered

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's and Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field.
  • Eligibility for ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CFY) or licensure.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification.

Responsibilities

  • Performs patient assessment.
  • Establishes a plan of care.
  • Provides care per physician orders and plan.
  • Assesses treatment effectiveness and adjusts goals.
  • Plans for patient discharge and coordinates with patient and family.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities.
  • Contributes to budgetary planning and cost awareness.
  • Identifies educational needs and provides training to patient/family.
  • Ensures a safe environment and adheres to safety standards.
  • Leads and mentors staff, interns, and volunteers.
  • Participates in quality improvement processes.

Texas Rehabilitation of Plano is a brand‑new 40 bed inpatient rehabilitation facility opening in 2026. We offer high‑quality, compassionate care for a wide variety of patients in need. Our teams provide evidence‑based, transformational care for a broad range of rehabilitation concerns in a compassionate, comfortable environment.

How you'll contribute
  • Performs patient assessment.
  • Establish a plan of care.
  • Provides care in accordance with physician's orders and established plan of care.
  • Assesses the effectiveness of treatment and modifies treatment to achieve goals.
  • Plans for patient discharge. Communicates with patient, family, caregivers, significant other, and members of the healthcare team to achieve rehabilitation goals and promote maximum benefits of care.
  • Participates in performance improvement and program development activities.
  • Provides input into the budgetary planning process; contributing to cost effectiveness of services and programs provided by the department.
  • Assess educational needs of the patient, family, caregiver, or significant other and provides education to meet those needs.
  • Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff. Assesses the risks for safety and implements appropriate precautions. Complies with appropriate and approved safety standards.
  • Utilizes the appropriate leadership skills in delegating, organizing, and educating coworkers and staff. Coordinates and supervises appropriate levels of staff including interns, students, and volunteers.
  • Participates in and contributes to quality improvement processes for the department and the institution.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What we’re looking for

Applicants should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Education: A Bachelor's and Master's degree in Speech‑Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, Communicative Disorders, or similarly titled area that is consistent and acceptable to the American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association.
  • License: Possess or eligible for a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association (ASHA) or be eligible to participate as an ASHA Clinical Fellow (CFY).Licensed or eligible for licensure in state.
  • Additional Requirements: Current Basic Life Support/CPR card.
