Job summary

Amedisys, Inc. is seeking a Speech Therapist for per diem days to provide adult home health speech-language pathology services in Baton Rouge, LA.

This role focuses on evaluating and treating speech, language, cognitive-communication, swallowing disorders, and aural rehabilitation for patients in a home setting. Responsibilities include assessing and treating patients, conducting AAC assessments, and performing related duties.

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered license to practice speech pathology in your assigned state.
• Current CCC-SLP certification with graduate coursework and clinical practicum from an accredited program.
• Current CPR certification.
• Preferred: One (1+) year of experience in speech pathology.

Responsibilities

• Prevent, assess, diagnose and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive communication and swallowing disorders in adults.
• Provide aural rehabilitation for deaf or hard of hearing and AAC systems for severe expressive and/or language comprehension disorders.
• Other duties as assigned.

Attractive Pay

• Minimum Hourly: $50.00

• Responsible for working to prevent, assess, diagnose and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive communication and swallowing disorders in adults.

• Provides aural rehabilitation for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing and provides augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems for individuals with severe expressive and/or language comprehension disorders.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered license to practice speech pathology specific to that state you are assigned to work.

• Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)* with completed graduate course work and a clinical practicum at a college or university whose program is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA).
• Current CPR certification.

Preferred

• One (1+) year of experience in speech pathology.

*Note: If the SLP - CCC certification has not been obtained the candidate must be put into the SLP Clinical Fellow (100910) job. Clinical Fellowship (CFY) is the transition between student and independent which involves an SLP supervisor, hour requirements and mentoring.
