Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in New York to evaluate communication disorders and provide therapy for hearing, speech, and language issues. You will work with patients and families, and participate in multidisciplinary teams.

You will document care, develop individualized treatment plans based on diagnosis and age, and monitor progress to adjust therapy as needed. Collaboration with other disciplines is essential to optimize outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent.
• Current New York State license to practice is required.
• ASHA Certification in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) is required.
• 1–3 years of relevant clinical experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic evaluations and speech/language screenings for in-patients and out-patients including discharge planning.
• Documents care and maintain records as required; maintains records on evaluations and treatments.
• Prepares treatment plans and recommendations.
• Discusses findings with patients and family to establish goals and develop home/community programs.
• Terminates services when maximum benefit is reached and plans follow-up as indicated.
