Job summary

Atlantic Health System in Morristown seeks a fully licensed Pediatric Speech Pathologist to join our rehabilitation team and provide therapy to young patients, including infants needing feeding support. Hours vary and may extend into the evening, within a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Licensed pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and evaluate speech and language skills considering educational, medical, social and psychological factors.
• Plan, direct, or conduct habilitative and rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communication.
• Provide counseling and language development therapy to individuals with communication disorders.
• Review background information prior to evaluation to select appropriate tests.
• Administer, score, and interpret specialized hearing and speech tests.
• Develop and implement individualized plans to meet client needs.
• Evaluate and monitor progress using audiovisual equipment; modify plans as needed.
• Maintain records in compliance with laws and regulations.
• Attend meetings and participate in activities to support professional growth.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job description

Atlantic Health is seeking a skilled, compassionate, and fully licensed Pediatric Speech Pathologist to join our award-winning Atlantic Rehabilitation team in Morristown. This position will providing therapeutic services to young patients with a variety of diagnoses, including infants who need specialized assistance with feeding. In addition to the abovementioned, the candidate chosen for this role will be responsible for providing a full range of speech pathology services including assessment, treatment planning and therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary environment consistent with the position's qualifications, professional practices and ethical standards. They shall also demonstrate accountability for and contribution to program development, quality improvement, problem-solving and productivity enhancement in a flexible interdisciplinary fashion.

Principal Accountabilities:

• 1. Diagnoses and evaluates speech and language skills as related to educational, medical, social, and psychological factors.
• 2. Plans, directs, or conducts habilitative and rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency of individuals with communication problems of organic and nonorganic etiology.
• 3. Provides counseling and guidance and language development therapy to disabled individuals.
• 4. Reviews individual file to obtain background information prior to evaluation to determine appropriate tests and to ensure that adequate information is available.
• 5. Administers, scores, and interprets specialized hearing and speech tests.
• 6. Develops and implements individualized plans for assigned clients to meet individual needs, interests, and abilities.
• 7. Evaluates and monitors individuals, using audiovisual equipment. Reviews treatment plans and assesses individual performance to modify, change, or write new programs.
• 8. Maintains records as required by law, establishment's policy, and administrative regulations.
• 9. Attends meetings and conferences and participates in other activities to promote professional growth.
• 10. Performs other related duties as assigned.
