Who We Need

We are currently seeking a full‑time Speech Language Pathologist for our Educational Learning Experience program in New Windsor, NY, serving students from pre‑school to 21 years of age.

Schedule

Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 4:00 pm, 35 hours per week, 48 weeks per year (includes a 6‑week summer program).

Annual Salary

$65,271.20 – $66,271.20 per year.

Responsibilities

• Initial evaluation/periodic re‑evaluation
• Program planning and implementation
• Scheduling of caseload in coordination with classroom staff and related services
• Coordination of program between student, counselor/teacher, and case manager
• Maintain interdisciplinary communications regarding program
• Report at team meetings and annual reviews as needed
• Responsible for the speech therapy program for the assigned caseload
• Responsible for written documentation required by Abilities First Inc. policies and appropriate programs; adhere to paperwork deadlines, agency forms, and content
• Attend program staff meetings and parent/teacher conferences as assigned by directors of various programs
• Collaborate with counselors/teachers to develop student treatment plans
• Perform related work as assigned by program directors
• If licensed, supervise staff speech pathologists participating in Clinical Fellowship year
• Assist in maintenance of treatment sites
• Provide departmental/staff services when indicated
• Provide list of needed therapy materials to Program Director
• Participate in Feeding Team or Augmentative Communication Team when appropriate
• Maintain a current NYS driver’s license free of moving violations (Amendable to Class E)
• Ensure compliance with the Code of Ethical and Legal Behavior, Corporate Compliance, HIPAA, and all applicable laws and regulations
• Adhere to ASHA Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics
• Follow agency policies and procedures and demonstrate regard for personal and others’ safety
• Perform other appropriate job‑related activities as requested by supervisor or circumstances warrant
• Adhere to State Education rules and regulations; preschool employees must follow Office of Children and Family Services policies

Requirements

• Completion of a Master’s degree program from an accredited college/university

• Experience with oral motor, dysphagia, and augmentative communications helpful
• Ability to push/pull students in wheelchairs, lift, bend, squat, turn in the knees, pivot, and grasp with both hands (to perform CPR/First Aid, behavior intervention, and lifting techniques), with or without reasonable accommodation
