Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a Speech Therapist to provide in-home evaluation and treatment for adults with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing challenges. You’ll address aural rehab, AAC needs, and work to improve communication and quality of life in patients’ homes.

Full-time daytime schedule with a $10K sign-on bonus. Comprehensive benefits and cost of labor reflect multiple U.S. markets, with opportunities for growth within the home health team.

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered license to practice speech pathology in the assigned state.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) with completed graduate coursework and a CAA-accredited program.
• Current CPR certification.
• Preferred: 1+ year of experience in speech pathology.

Responsibilities

• Prevent, assess, diagnose and treat speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing disorders in adults.
• Provide aural rehabilitation and AAC systems for patients who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for working to prevent, assess, diagnose and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive communication and swallowing disorders in adults.


• Provides aural rehabilitation for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing and provides augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems for individuals with severe expressive and/or language comprehension disorders.


• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered license to practice speech pathology specific to that state you are assigned to work.


• Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)* with completed graduate course work and a clinical practicum at a college or university whose program is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA).


• Current CPR certification.

Preferred

• One (1+) year of experience in speech pathology.

*Note: If the SLP - CCC certification has not been obtained the candidate must be put into the SLP Clinical Fellow (100910) job. Clinical Fellowship (CFY) is the transition between student and independent which involves an SLP supervisor, hour requirements and mentoring.
