Job summary

HiredFirst in Bakersfield, CA seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat speech, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. You will perform assessments and develop individualized treatment plans, document progress, and collaborate with the care team.

Responsibilities include supervising support staff, assisting with discharge planning and patient education, and working closely with hospitalists and intensivists as needed. Day shifts with start times at 8:00 or 8:30 AM.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent required.
  • Active state license as a Speech-Language Pathologist required.
  • BLS/CPR certification required.
  • ASHA CCC preferred.

Job description

Schedule:

Day Shift (8-hour shifts)

Monday–Friday

Start time: 8:00 AM or 8:30 AM

No night shifts

Requirements

Education & Experience:

Master’s Degree (or equivalent): Required

2+ years SLP experience: Preferred

Licensure & Certifications:

Active Speech Pathologist License (state of practice): Required

BLS/CPR (AHA or ARC): Required

ASHA CCC: Preferred

Equipment & Procedures

Equipment: Wheelchairs, walkers, canes, rehab tools

Procedures: Video swallow studies (daily scheduled exams)

Collaboration with transport team for studies

Scrubs: Black

Additional Notes

Work closely with hospitalists and intensivists as needed

No lift team

Vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions may apply)
