Salary Range: $22.00 - $26.00 hourly.

Job Summary

The Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) - Medical is responsible for providing direct therapy services to UCP of Central Florida (UCP) in-clinic and outpatient clients according to local, state, and federal regulations. This position reports to the Therapy Practice Office Manager (TPOM) at each campus where services are rendered. The SLPA ensures all clients under their care receive a high‑quality therapy program by optimizing each client’s abilities.

UCP of Central Florida provides pediatric therapy in two main settings: charter schools and medical/out‑patient facilities. The charter schools comprise a network of 8 PreK‑12th grade schools for students with and without disabilities, and therapy is delivered as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Job Responsibilities

• Submit accurate and timely Superbills on a daily basis according to UCP guidelines.
• Provide and monitor client coverage and turn in revised schedules weekly, achieving monthly and annual productivity goals based on the existing caseload.
• Ensure compliance with UCP Confidentiality and HIPAA patient rights procedures for all client files and information on the therapist caseload.
• Assist the Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) with speech, language, and hearing screenings without clinical interpretation.
• Assist the SLP during assessment of clients, exclusive of administration and/or interpretation.
• Follow documented treatment plans or protocols developed by the supervising SLP.
• Collect data on client achievement for documentation, activity logs, and report preparation.
• Document client performance (e.g., tallying data, preparing charts, records, and graphs) and report this information to the supervising SLP in a timely manner.
• Program and provide instruction in the use of augmentative and alternative communication devices as instructed by the SLP.
• Adapt materials and equipment as directed by the supervising SLP.
• Assist the supervising SLP in facilitating meetings/communications among therapists, staff, parents, etc. to develop plans and provide information regarding client goals.
• Attend campus therapy team meetings, SLPA meetings, and other required meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
