Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Travel to patient homes within the assigned service area.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and professional ethical standards.

Job Summary

Career Links is seeking a compassionate and motivated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to provide speech and language therapy services in a home health setting. Working under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), the SLPA will assist patients of various ages who experience communication, cognitive, swallowing, and related disorders.

This role offers the opportunity to provide individualized care in patients' homes while collaborating with families, caregivers, physicians, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to help patients achieve their communication and functional goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide speech-language therapy services as directed by the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Implement treatment plans, therapeutic activities, and interventions developed by the supervising SLP.
  • Document patient performance, treatment activities, and progress toward established goals.
  • Assist with screenings, observations, and data collection as permitted by state regulations.
  • Educate patients, family members, and caregivers on home exercise programs and communication strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with agency, state, and federal requirements.
  • Communicate regularly with the supervising SLP regarding patient progress and concerns.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals involved in patient care.
  • Travel to patient homes within the assigned service area.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, home health regulations, and professional ethical standards.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree or higher with a major emphasis in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant studies from an accredited institution.
  • Current state SLPA license or registration, or eligibility to obtain licensure, as required by state regulations.
  • Completion of required clinical training and supervised field experience.
  • Ability to work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in accordance with state laws and regulations.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of automobile insurance.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing a flexible patient schedule.
  • Home health or healthcare experience preferred but not required.
