Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program.
  • Active license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Texas.
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP).
  • Bilingual skills preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate comprehensive speech-language needs of students and identify required therapy services.
  • Communicate findings clearly with parents and district personnel.
  • Develop evidence-based interventions with the ARD committee to support student progress.
  • Provide therapy directly or supervise assistants to implement IEP goals.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust interventions based on data.
  • Participate in ARD meetings, parent conferences, and related discussions to support programs.

Your Role:

As aSpeech-Language Pathologist, you’ll play a vital role in helping students overcome communication challenges and thrive in their educational settings. Here’s how you’ll contribute:

Evaluate Needs: Conduct comprehensive speech-language evaluations to identify students’ needs for specialized therapy services.

Communicate Findings: Share evaluation results with parents and district personnel, ensuring clear and compassionate communication.

Develop Interventions: Collaborate with the ARD committee to create targeted, evidence-based therapeutic interventions that enhance student performance, participation, and access to education.

Provide Therapy: Deliver therapy services directly or supervise Speech-Language Pathology Assistants in implementing IEP goals.

Monitor Progress:Maintain accurate, detailed records of student progress and use data to adjust interventions as needed.

Support Team: Participate in ARD meetings, parent conferences, and other relevant discussions to advocate for and support students’ special education programs.
