Qualifications

• Professional degree in speech language pathology required.
• Master's degree in speech pathology from an accredited program.
• Eligible for Speech-Language Pathologist license to practice in WI.
• Must hold and maintain Wisconsin S-LP license.
• Must maintain a valid, current driver's license.
• Must maintain BLS certification.
• 1+ years of related work experience preferred; hospital setting a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform direct patient care: assess and treat speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
• Complete patient documentation, including evaluations, plans of care, progress and discharge reports.
• Contact insurance companies regarding benefits.
• Prepare for evaluation and treatment sessions.
• Educate staff (nurses, physicians, dietitians, food service) on results and recommendations.
• Create in-service presentations and educational opportunities for staff.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to deliver patient-centered treatment.
• Clean treatment rooms after sessions.
• Provide reminder calls to patients.
• Aid patients and families in navigating the hospital.
• Perform other duties as requested.
