Job summary

Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital is seeking a part-time Speech-Language Pathologist to join the Speech Pathology Unit. You will assess, treat, plan, implement, educate, and demonstrate techniques addressing speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders under supervisory guidance as needed.

Requirements include a Master's in Speech-Language Pathology, eligibility for Clinical Fellowship Year, California SLP license, and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess, treat, plan, implement, educate and demonstrate techniques addressing speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
• Provide supervision as needed for CFY candidates.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient-focused care.

Job description

Speech Language Pathologist in Speech Pathology Unit at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. This position is Part time and will work 8-hour Day Shifts.

The practice of speech-language pathology shall include assessment, treatment, planning, implementation, education, communication, and demonstration of techniques addressing speech language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders to meet the needs of patients and their families with supervisory guidance provided as needed. Therapists completing a Clinical Fellowship year will receive supervision in accordance with rules delineated by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

Required Qualifications

• Master's Degree from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program.
• Completion of, or eligibility for, Clinical Fellowship Year.
• Coursework/Training: Speech-Language Pathology Area of Specialization - Completion of competencies for:
  • Therapeutic feedings,
  • Patient transfers, and
  • Assistance with Modified Barium Swallow studies.
• Upon hire: California Speech Language Pathologist License
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

• Coursework/Training: Educated or trained in dysphagia assessment and management.
• 1 year acute care or inpatient rehabilitation experience.
