Job summary

ClearSky Health in Lake City, FL seeks a compassionate Speech Language Pathologist (PRN) to evaluate and treat speech, language, cognitive, voice, swallowing, and related disorders. You will work with an interdisciplinary team, document thoroughly, and help plan discharges while maintaining patient safety and comfort.

Prior rehab hospital experience preferred; current state licensure and CPR required. Day shifts available as needed, with competitive compensation and opportunities for

Qualifications

  • Current state licensure in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA or Clinical Fellowship Year status or equivalent preferred.
  • Basic Life Support/CPR certification required.
  • Two years of direct patient care experience in a rehabilitation hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and apply Speech Language Pathology treatment modalities under physician orders.
  • Assess educational and cultural needs of patients and communicate accordingly.
  • Coordinate with interdisciplinary team on patient needs and progress.
  • Complete patient documentation in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

As a Speech Language Pathologist you will assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, cognitive, communication, voice, swallowing, fluency, and other related disorders while integrating company values into daily practice. This position is PRN and will work Day shifts as needed.

Essential job functions include but are not limited to:
  • Responsible for administration and direct application of Speech Language Pathology treatment modalities as prescribed by a licensed physician performing patient assessments, establishing plan of care, and preparing discharge plans.
  • Assesses educational and cultural needs of the patient, family, caregiver, or significant other and communicate accordingly to promote maximum benefit of care.
  • Coordinates with interdisciplinary team on patient needs, dietary requirements, treatment modifications, and progress.
  • Completes patient documentation in a thorough, timely, and efficient manner.
  • Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Assesses the risks for safety and implements appropriate precautions.
  • Complies with appropriate and approved safety and Infection Prevention standards.
Requirements for consideration:
  • While we are open to recent graduates, two (2) years of direct patient care experience in rehabilitation hospital setting is preferred.
  • Current state licensure in Speech Language Pathology.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA or Clinical Fellowship Year status or equivalent preferred.
  • Basic Life Support/CPR card required.
Physical Requirements Over the Course of a Shift:
  • A significant amount of standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling, often for prolonged periods of time.
  • Both gross and precise motor functions.
  • Lifting/exerting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Possible exposure to bodily fluids.
  • Visual acuity required for patient assessment and documentation of care.
  • Acute hearing required for accurate patient assessment.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to operate equipment and computer keyboard.
  • Close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
