Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital - Memphis is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat patients with communication and swallowing disorders in a comprehensive, patient-centered program.

You will participate in interdisciplinary care, contribute to clinical improvements, and support a robust orientation and professional development environment within a national healthcare system.

Qualifications

• Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist is required.
• Certified BLS or completion within 90 days of employment required.
• Preferred:CCC in Speech Language Pathology from ASHA.

Responsibilities

• Provide a comprehensive evaluation of communication skills and swallowing function with goal-oriented treatment.
• Deliver therapy to facilitate maximum communication and swallowing potential.
• Participate with staff in monitoring the Rehab Therapy Department quality of services.
• Assist in developing SLP programs and revising departmental policies and procedures.
• Maintain adequate stock of supplies and contribute to process improvements.
• Share knowledge with colleagues and notify management of educational needs.

Compensation: $35.00 to $55.00 per hour

• You have an understanding of communication skills, evaluation, and treatment and a desire to work in collaboration with associates to provide quality interdisciplinary patient programming.
• You will provide a comprehensive evaluation of communication skills and/or swallowing function and provide goal-oriented treatment to facilitate maximum communication and/or swallowing potential.
• Participates with fellow staff in monitoring the quality of services provided by the Rehab Therapy Department.
• Participates in peer review for staff performance and appraisals.
• Assists in the development of the SLP role in programs and services, as well as revising the departmental policies and procedures.
• Assists in maintaining an adequate stock of supplies.
• Exhibits willingness to share professional knowledge and experience. Alerts the Manager to educational needs

Minimum Qualifications

• Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist required.
• Certified BLS or completion in first 90 days of employment required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language & Hearing Association.
