Rehab Without Walls Neurorehabilitation in Walnut Creek, CA seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist for a flexible PRN, W2 role. The position offers autonomy, strong clinical support, and real-world home/community therapy across episodes of care in clients’ environments.

Ideal candidates have a Master’s in SLP, an active license, CPR certification, and at least 1 year of SLP experience, with a focus on functional rehabilitation and collaboration with OTs/PTs/LCSWs.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.
  • Current state license as Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Minimum one year of work experience as an SLP.
  • Knowledge of rehabilitation techniques for complex neurological injury preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform evaluations and develop treatment plans for speech, language, cognitive and swallowing disorders.
  • Regularly reassess treatment effectiveness and attend staffing meetings and family conferences.
  • Perform discharge evaluations and provide home and community safety recommendations and resources.
  • Communicate patient needs and progress to the treatment team, physician, patient and family.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and improve outcomes.

We are seeking an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist for a flexible PRN, W2 role (not 1099) in Walnut Creek, CA. This opportunity offers meaningful autonomy, strong clinical support, and the chance to provide high-impact, real-world care.


Who We’re Looking For:


  • An experienced SLP interested in serving as the primary therapist throughout the full episode of care from evaluation through discharge.

  • Available for approximately 10–20 hours per week, typically serving 2–3 consistent clients.

  • Passionate about functional, real-world rehabilitation delivered beyond traditional clinic walls.

  • Ready to support clients as they transition back to meaningful daily activities, including:

    • Independently managing and picking up prescriptions

    • Returning to driving

    • Transitioning back to work

    • Participating in yoga, light hiking, and community activities



  • A clinician who thrives with professional autonomy while valuing collaboration with an interdisciplinary team of OTs, PTs, LCSWs, and other rehabilitation professionals.

Responsibilities

What you will do: Responsibilities listed include but not limited to:



  • Perform evaluations and develop treatment plans of patients with speech, language, cognitive and swallowing disorders

  • Regularly re‑assess effectiveness of treatment plans, attend staffing meetings and family conferences

  • Perform discharge evaluations, make appropriate recommendations for home and community safety, and provide referral and education resources

  • Communicate patient’s needs and progress to the treatment team, physician, person receiving services and family members

  • Communicates with other disciplines to ensure collaboration, coordination of care and enhance patient outcomes


Qualifications

What you will need:



  • Minimum of a Master’s Degree from an accredited Speech Language Pathology program

  • Valid Speech Language Pathology license in the state(s) of practice

  • Current CPR Certification in accordance with state regulations

  • A minimum of one year’s work experience as a Speech Language Pathologist

  • Demonstrates knowledge of rehabilitation techniques related to complex neurological injury preferred

  • Communicates effectively and professionally in verbal and written interactions

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds

  • Moving, lifting, or transferring of patients which may involve lifting of up to 100 pounds following safety procedures

  • Duties require fine motor skills,visual acuity,and walking/standing for extended periods

  • Additional physical requirements include: pushing/pulling, bending/stooping, reaching, kneeling, and positioning frequently at times

  • A health screen or examination may be required prior to assignment and periodically thereafter, depending on specific location policy, local and state regulations to verify employee is physically capable of performing assigned duties with or without reasonable accommodations
