Job summary

AvaMed Workforce is seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist for a full-time assignment at a California correctional facility in Stockton. The role is 40 hours per week at 7:30am–4:00pm, compensated at $55/hr as an independent contractor.

Candidates must hold a CA SLP license and ASHA CCC, with at least one year of professional experience. Responsibilities include evaluations, treatment, reporting, and collaboration with facility staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide Speech-Language Pathology services including identification, diagnosis, and treatment of speech, language, and related disorders.
• Perform basic speech-language evaluations and consult with Institution/Facility physicians.
• Deliver services per physician orders on an as-needed basis.
• Prepare reports, progress notes, and discharge summaries for patient records.
• Ensure materials and instructions for patient use are available and properly set up.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Details:
40 Hours per week
Location: Stockton, CA
Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm
Rate: $55/hr ($2,200/week)
Status: Independent Contractor (1099)

Must possess current and valid license, issued by the California Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensers Board, and a certificate of clinical competence issued by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association in order to perform services in the State of California.

Must have 1 full-year of experience as a licensed professional.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Under the direction of the Institution/Facility designee, the Temporary/Relief SpeechLanguage Pathologist shall provide services as permitted within the scope of practice for a Speech Pathologist, in accordance with Institution/Facility policies and procedures. The Temporary/Relief Speech-Language Pathologist must be able to work in conditions that require all of the following essential functions:

• a. Provide Speech-Language Pathology services such as identification, diagnosis, consultation, and treatment of speech, language, oral and pharyngeal sensor motor dysfunction and cognitive rehabilitation for designated patient/youth;
• b. Perform basic speech-language and dysphasia evaluations and consultations as ordered by the Institution/Facility physicians and make appropriate recommendations to the Institution/Facility designee;
• c. Provide subsequent Speech-Language Pathology services in accordance with physician orders on an "as needed" basis at the Institution/Facility;
• d. Ensure that Speech-Language materials are available for the patient/youth use, and oversee set up of materials and instructions for use;
• e. Prepare reports as required by Institution/Facility designee, assessments/evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries for placement in the patient's/youth's chart and/or outpatient electronic Unit Health Record (eUHR);
• f. Other duties as assigned.
