Qualifications

  • Current Missouri Speech-Language Pathologist license in good standing.
  • Experience providing speech and language therapy services to children or young adults, preferably ages 5–21.
  • Experience with individuals with visual impairments preferred.
  • Familiarity with school-based SLP services, IEPs, and IDEA requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct speech and language therapy to students per IEP goals and benchmarks.
  • Deliver therapy using an integrated approach to support communication in the educational environment.
  • Provide direct therapy on an individual basis unless IEP specifies group services.
  • Conduct speech and language assessments and address needs identified through IEP process.
  • Assist in developing Present Levels of Academic Achievement and Functional Performance (PLAAFP).
  • Monitor progress and report to classroom teachers and staff on request.
  • Address speech, articulation, receptive/expressive language, fluency, voice, social communication per IEP.
  • Consult with staff on strategies to support IEP goals.
  • Demonstrate techniques to staff during consultations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of evaluations, services, progress, and records.

Job Description

Adelphi is seeking a part-time Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide speech and language therapy services at a school facility in St. Louis, MO.

The ideal candidate will work closely with school administration to provide therapy services in accordance with established guidelines, school procedures, and standards of practice.

Requirements
  • Master’s degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited or otherwise approved program.

  • Monitor and document student progress and provide progress information to classroom teachers and other school staff when requested.
  • Provide direct therapy addressing speech, articulation, receptive and expressive language, fluency, voice, social communication, and functional communication needs, as applicable to the student’s IEP.
  • Consult with classroom staff and other school personnel regarding strategies and techniques that support students in achieving their IEP goals.
  • Demonstrate appropriate speech and language techniques and communication strategies to classroom staff during consultation, as applicable.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of evaluations, therapy services, progress, consultations, and other required student records.
