Job summary

Benchmark Human Services is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP & CFY) to join its Early Intervention Services in Missoula, Montana. The role focuses on evaluating and supporting infants and toddlers with communication delays, developing IFSPs, and delivering therapeutic interventions to children from birth to age three.

The SLP will work within a multidisciplinary team, document progress, and navigate funding sources such as Medicaid and First Steps.

Qualifications

• Licensed by the State's Speech Pathology and Audiology Board.
• Meets criteria for First Steps Provider Enrollment.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessment, plan development and progress monitoring.
• Refer for medical or other professional services as needed.
• Perform environmental adaptations and IFSP-related duties.
• Document services for reimbursement (Medicaid, First Steps, etc.).
• Maintain compliance with provider agreements and continuing education requirements.
• Promote IFSP implementation in natural environments.
• Report any suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
• Ensure health and safety standards for all individuals.

Overview

The Speech Therapist (SLP) responsibilities are to conduct evaluations and assessments, participate in Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) development and implementation, monitor outcomes as a member of the team, and provide EI supports to families for the benefit of the child. The SLP will identify or diagnose communicative or oral lingual disorders and delay in the development of communication services and provide therapeutic intervention for children birth - 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Provision of services via assessment, plan development and monitoring of progress towards the outcome, training and support to family members in implementing the IFSP.
• Refer for medical or other professional services necessary in the child's care.
• Environmental consultation to ensure that appropriate adaptations and safety issues for the eligible child have been incorporated as set forth in the IFSP.
• Documentation of services provided as reflected in IFSP.
• Complete necessary documentation to facilitate reimbursement through primary funding sources (i.e., Medicaid, First Steps, etc.)
• Comply with First Steps Provider Agreement in regard to continuing education, etc.
• Promotes activities in the natural environment to enhance implementation of IFSP.
• Report any suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation immediately to supervisor or department head.
• Comply with all standards to assure the health and safety of all individuals
