Job summary

Excelsior Care Group's Live Oak facility in Live Oak, Florida seeks a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to assess, treat, and monitor residents' communication needs, delivering evidence-based therapy.

You will collaborate with the rehab team, design personalized therapy activities, train staff on adaptive devices, participate in care planning, and maintain a compassionate, resident-centered environment consistent with state standards and CCC-SLP expectations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program.
• ASHA certification required.
• Florida SLP license or eligibility for licensure.
• Eligible for Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC-SLP)
• Prior experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the rehab team to acquire and train residents in the use of adaptive communication devices.
• Design and implement personalized therapy activities tailored to residents' goals, abilities, and interests.
• Consult with interdisciplinary staff to create individualized therapy regimens.
• Guide residents in communication skill-building, monitor progress, and adapt therapy plans as needed.
• Lead in-service training programs on speech therapy techniques for medical, nursing, and therapy staff.
• Supervise support personnel in accordance with state and professional standards.
• Actively participate in care planning meetings and facility events.
• Maintain a supportive, respectful, and empathetic environment for all residents.
