Spectrum Support is a consulting firm that collaborates with organizations throughout New Jersey to support staffing needs for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities.

We are partnering with an Adult Day Habilitation in Hamilton NJ (Mercer County) that it seeking a full time Speech Language Pathologist to join their team.

Key Responsibilities Adult Services
  • Develop and contribute to Individualized Support Plans (ISPs) for participants.
  • Deliver individual and group speech and language therapy as outlined in ISPs.
  • Track and maintain detailed performance data for each participant.
  • Model effective communication strategies for staff and participants.
  • Customize and maintain augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems.
  • Support communication development through verbal language, sign language, visual supports, and AAC devices.
  • Ensure therapy services are implemented consistently and according to ISP requirements.
  • Monitor progress and adjust strategies to ensure participant growth.
  • Collaborate with leadership to design and implement new speech and language programs.
  • Train staff on integrating communication strategies into daily routines.
  • Implement visual supports such as picture and activity schedules.
  • Maintain accurate daily documentation of therapy sessions.
  • Participate in team meetings and interdisciplinary discussions.
  • Maintain strong relationships with families, staff, and community members.
  • Provide progress updates during ISP meetings.
  • Collaborate with Direct Support Professionals and program leadership.
  • Communicate therapy goals and strategies effectively to families and caregivers.
  • Foster a team-oriented and supportive work environment.
Training & Professional Development
  • Attend and participate in required in-service trainings.
  • Support staff training initiatives when needed.
  • Maintain continuing education credits to uphold professional certifications and licensure requirements.
Qualifications Education & Credentials
  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC‑SLP).
  • Active licensure in the state of New Jersey.
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with individuals with speech and language disorders.
  • Experience with autism spectrum disorders preferred.
  • Knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA) and evidence-based intervention strategies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Commitment to confidentiality and ethical practice.
  • Ability to advocate for individuals served and support their families.
Physical & Additional Requirements
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, bending, lifting (up to 50 pounds), and mobility support.
  • Ability to respond quickly to ensure participant safety.
  • Maintain required crisis management certification.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Flexibility to travel and work varied schedules, including evenings and weekends.
