Qualifications

• Appropriate education level required per state licensure.
• Must be licensed in the state(s) of practice as Speech-Language Pathologist.
• When working at a Sanford Health Facility: Holds CCC issued by ASHA or CFY in progress.
• May require valid driver’s license.
• BLS for health care providers required or within 60 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Administers speech and language evaluations, tests or examinations to diagnose and plan treatments for clients with speech and swallowing disorders.
• Develops individualized treatment plans based on clinical diagnoses.
• Provides speech and language services to clients and monitors disease progression.
• Instructs clients in practicing therapy exercises and provides consultation to caregivers.
• Ensures all speech and language standards, policies and quality requirements are met.
• May supervise assistants, aides, and students; may provide ongoing education to peers.
