Job summary

New Horizon Senior Living in Kingwood, WV is seeking a Speech/Language Pathologist to organize and conduct speech/language programs for rehabilitation. The clinician directs client participation and facilitates communication and swallowing skills to reduce pathology and improve function.

The role requires licensure in the state or eligibility, a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, and ASHA CCC or Clinical Fellow eligibility.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed and/or eligible for licensure in the state.
• Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
• CCC from ASHA or eligible for Clinical Fellow.
• Able to practice Speech/Language Pathology per state guidelines.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate clients, develop treatment goals and methods, implement therapy plans and document services.
• Coordinate adaptive communication devices and instruct clients in their use.
• Select activities matching individual capacities and interests.
• Consult with rehabilitation team to select appropriate therapy regimen.
• Instruct clients and evaluate progress and attitudes relevant to rehabilitation potential.
• Adapt program to individual client needs.
• Attend client care meetings and contribute to staffing.
• Provide training in speech therapy techniques to staff.
• Requisition supplies and equipment as necessary.
• Supervise supportive personnel according to standards.
• Maintain and report on equipment needs and repairs.
• Provide compassionate, high-quality resident care.
