Job summary

Livingston HealthCare in Livingston, MT is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to deliver evidence-based therapy across outpatient, inpatient, subacute, home health, and clinic settings. The role includes cross-training for coverage and participation in interdisciplinary care meetings.

You will document evaluations and progress within 2 business days, participate in on-call coverage, communicate with physicians, and maintain licensure.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in communication Disorders or comparable discipline.
  • Holds current CCC with ASHA.
  • Licensed or eligible for license in the state of Montana.
  • In good standing with the state licensing board.
  • Driver’s license in good standing in State of Montana.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ethical, safe, and quality Speech Therapy care per ASHA and MT rules.
  • Document sessions within 2 business days (initial evaluations, notes, progress, discharge).
  • Share weekend on-call coverage in rotation with other SLPs.
  • Communicate with physicians and other healthcare practitioners about patient care.
  • Attend monthly staff meetings and participate in Performance/Process Improvement.
  • Assist with maintaining a clean environment for patients and staff.
  • Supervise SLP students.

Livingston Healthcare Speech-Language Pathologists provide evidence-based speech therapy services to patients of all ages in various settings including outpatient, in-patient, subacute (swing bed), home health, and clinic-based pediatrics. Each Speech-Language Pathologist provides care in at least one primary setting but will be cross trained in other settings to help with SLP coverage as deemed necessary. Additional services may include but are not limited to modified barium swallows, pediatric screenings, hearing screenings, attendance to school-based IEP meetings, and attendance of interdisciplinary care meetings.

Schedule:
  • PRN with 1 day per week commitment
  • Mon-Fri
  • 8-hour Days
Compensation:
  • $37.97/hr + DOE
  • PRN Differential
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide ethical, safe, and quality Speech Therapy care/treatment for patients per standard of practice set forth in the American Speech-Language Hearing Association Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics as well as the State of Montana Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiologist Examiners Rules and Statutes.
  • Produce timely and accurate documentation of all patient care sessions, including initial evaluations with plan of care, daily treatment notes, progress reports/updated plan of care and discharge summaries, within 2 business days of treatment session.
  • Share responsibility of weekend on-call coverage for the hospital in a rotation with other Speech Language Pathologists.
  • Communicate with physicians and other healthcare practitioners regarding patient care and changes in patient status using appropriate communication outlets including email, message center, phone, Cortext, and verbal discussion.
  • Attendance of monthly staff meetings and other meetings as warranted by department manager.
  • Actively participates in Performance and Process Improvement.
  • Assist with maintaining a clean environment for patients and staff as needed.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Internal chart audits as requested by Manager of Rehabilitation Services.
  • Livingston HealthCare required annual competency course(s).
  • CPR Certification.
  • Completion of continuing education courses to maintain state licensure and to advance skills and abilities.
  • Supervision of SLP students.
  • Communication with teammates within the department and organization using organization appropriate tools such as email, phone, and text.
QUALIFICATIONS (Required):
  • Master’s degree in communication Disorders or comparable discipline.
  • Holds current certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) with ASHA (American Speech-Language and Hearing Association).
  • Licensed or eligible for license in the state of Montana.
  • In good standing with current state licensing board.
  • Driver’s license in good standing in State of Montana.
