Job summary

Providence Covenant Hobbs Hospital is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide assessment, treatment and education for patients with speech-language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. The clinician will work with patients and families, advancing independence and quality of life.

Required qualifications include a Master’s in SLP, Clinical Fellowship completion, NM SLP license, BLS, and CCC-SLP, with at least 2 years of professional experience.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Completion of Clinical Fellowship Year.
• New Mexico SLP license required upon hire.
• BLS certification upon hire (American Heart Association).
• CCC-SLP certification required.
• Minimum of 2 years professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess, treat, plan, implement, educate, and demonstrate techniques addressing speech-language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
• Provide supervisory guidance as needed and work with a team to meet patient and family needs.

Description

The practice of speech-language pathology shall include assessment, treatment, planning, implementation, education, communication, and demonstration of techniques addressing speech-language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders to meet the needs of patients and their families with supervisory guidance provided as needed. Otherwise, a speech-language pathologist shall work independently without direct supervision.

Required Qualifications:

• Master's Degree Conferred from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program.

• Coursework/Training Completion of Clinical Fellowship Year.

• Upon hire: New Mexico Speech Language Pathologist license - New Mexico Speech-Language Pathology

• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

• Upon hire: Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology - American Speech-Language-Hearing Association

• 2 years Professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training Educated or trained in dysphagia assessment and management.

• Neonatal Therapist (CCH acute only): Degree from accredited program.

• 1 year Acute care and/or inpatient rehabilitation experience.
