Job summary

Boost Home Healthcare is seeking a licensed Speech Language Pathologist to deliver in-home speech therapy, following physician orders and plans of care. You will assess, treat, and oversee patient progress in a home setting across Las Vegas, NV.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology, is licensed in Nevada, has clinical practicum experience and at least one year in an acute care setting, and is prepared to collaborate with physicians and supervise

Qualifications

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Speech Language Pathology and SLP licensure.
  • Licensed as a Speech Language Pathologist in the state where services are furnished.
  • Completed 350 clock hours of supervised clinical practicum (or currently in progress).
  • At least nine months of supervised full-time SLP experience and passed a national exam approved by the Secretary.

Responsibilities

  • Gather background data, review referrals, select and modify evaluation tools, and evaluate patients for physical and psychosocial functioning.
  • Reevaluate patient progress during treatment, acquire and modify adaptive equipment to support independence.
  • Provide full range of speech language pathology services as ordered by physician.
  • Consult with physicians regarding changes in treatment.
  • Supervise home health aides per state and federal guidelines.
  • Evaluate outcomes and discharge planning.

A Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) administers speech therapy to patients on an intermittent basis in their place of residence. This is performed in accordance with physician orders and plan of care under the direction and supervision of the Director of Clinical Services/Clinical Supervisor or Manager, Speech therapy services are furnished only by or under the supervision of a qualified speech pathologist.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Gather background data, reviews referrals, selects and modifies evaluation tools, and evaluates patients determining the level of patient’s physical and psychosocial functioning.
  • Reevaluate the patient’s progress during treatment at appropriate intervals, recommending, acquiring, and modifying necessary adaptive equipment to augment the patient's independence.

  • Evaluate outcomes and discharge planning.
What we’re looking for:
  • A passion to serve and help others live their best lives possible.
  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Speech Language Pathology, and is licensed as a Speech Language Pathologist by the state where they furnish services, -or-
  • Successfully completed 350 clock hours of supervised clinical practicum (or be in the process of completing), at least nine months of supervised full-time SLP experience, and has successfully completed a national examination approved by the Secretary.
  • Currently licensed in the state(s) in which practicing (refer to SLP state specific qualifications).
  • Minimum of one (1) year in an acute care setting.
