Job summary

Catholic Health Services’ St. Charles Campus at Good Samaritan University Hospital in Port Jefferson seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist to treat children and adults in multiservice outpatient areas, with inpatient coverage as well.

The role requires a Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology, CCC-SLP, NY State license and MBS, with evening hours and TSHH certification as needed. Experience with the adult neurologic population is preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Evaluates clients/patients and determines factors for speech, language and/or hearing impairments.
• Administers diagnostic testing procedures to determine extent of impairment and prognosis.
• Develops individualized treatment programs for patients needing speech and language intervention.
• Addresses articulation, voice, fluency, language skills, oral motor, dysphagia and auditory skills.

Job Details

The Speech-Language Pathologist provides treatment for children and adults in our multiservice pediatric and adult outpatient area, with a need to cover inpatient as well.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluates clients/patients and determines causal factors for speech, language and/or hearing impairments; gathers data related to patient's communication disorder; selects appropriate evaluation tool(s) for the purpose of assessment.
• Administers diagnostic testing procedures to determine the extent of the patient's impairment and the prognosis for improvement.
• Develops individualized treatment programs for patients diagnosed as needing speech and language intervention.
• Areas addressed include articulation, voice, fluency, receptive and expressive language skills, oral motor competence, dysphagia and auditory skills.

Requirements:

• Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech and Language from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. (CCC)
• New York State license and registration in Speech-Language Pathology required.
• MBS (Modified Barium Swallow) required
• Previous experience with adult neurologic population is preferred.
• Hours requireevening coverage.
• TSHH certification is needed.

Salary Range

USD $73.59 - USD $73.59 /Hr.
