Job summary

Community Health Network seeks a Speech Language Pathologist to evaluate, plan and provide therapy for speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing disorders. Services will be delivered in the NICU with swallow studies as appropriate.

You will coordinate with RN staff on feeding schedules, assist with feeding plans and educate parents. Applicants must have a Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology, be licensed as an Indiana SLP and hold CCC-SLP certification.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited college or university (required).
  • Indiana Speech Language Pathologist license (must have).
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) required.
  • Previous SLP experience in acute care or outpatient settings preferred.
  • Knowledge of anatomy/physiology, evaluation and therapy, current materials and trends.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, patients, families, physicians and other stakeholders.
  • Understanding behaviors and needs across child, adolescent, adult and geriatric populations.

The Speech Language Pathologist role evaluates, plans, and provides therapy for speech/language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders. The SLP will provide services in the NICU and swallow studies when appropriate. The SLP will coordinate with the RN staff around feeding schedules, assist with feeding plans, and parent education.

Exceptional Skills and Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Speech Pathology required
  • Must have a valid Indiana Speech Language Pathologist license, Certificate of Clinical Competence Required
  • Previous SLP in an Acute Care or Outpatient area preferred
  • Must be knowledgeable in anatomy/physiology, evaluation and therapy, theoretical concepts and techniques, current materials and technological advances, and new professional trends.
  • You will effectively provide quality service to impaired individuals and communicate effectively with staff, peers, patients, families, physicians, and all internal/external customers.
  • An ability to incorporate a basic understanding of the behaviors, developmental needs, physical needs, emotional needs, and comfort of the child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient will help.
