Speech Language Pathologist NICU PRN

Medical City Las Colinas, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist for our Level II NICU on a PRN basis.

Job Summary

The Speech Therapist provides high-quality, patient-centered care by developing and conducting individualized therapy programs for patients with communication, cognitive, and/or swallowing impairments. The role requires comprehensive patient assessments, treatment planning, and education of patients, families, and staff.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct subjective assessments of assigned patients' speech and language abilities during spontaneous conversation.
  • Administer objective tests to assess patient communication assets and liabilities.
  • Structure and implement individualized patient programs to improve communication abilities.
  • Evaluate patients regularly during treatment and adjust programs as needed to maximize progress.
  • Document progress in the patient chart and complete notes, charges, discharge notes, and patient communications.
  • Consult with Program Director and Rehabilitation Physician/Medical Director for pre-screen assessments and physician consultations regarding patient placement.
Qualifications
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP) or equivalent (SLP).
