Job summary

ChildServe in Johnston, IA is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to join our pediatric rehabilitation team. You will deliver family-centered, speech language pathology services to children from birth through 21 years in our outpatient program, collaborating with other therapists to tailor plans to each child’s needs.

The role offers leadership development, on-site mentoring, and opportunities to work across a range of diagnoses, helping families improve communication and quality of life.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology program.
• CCC preferred.
• 1+ years pediatric experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively in reading, writing, and speaking English.

Responsibilities

• Administer appropriate standardized tests/screenings/informal assessments/clinical observations.
• Review medical, educational, social, and financial information to provide recommendations and follow-up for each case.
• Provide interpretation and counseling of test results to children and caregivers as well as ongoing feedback regarding progress.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team on developing, implementing, and revising the therapy plan of care based on initial and ongoing assessments, and as required by policy/regulation.
• Develop individualized plan of care as appropriate to meet the needs of the child and young adult/caregiver including appropriate frequency and duration.
• Provide specialized pediatric treatment activities to children and young adults.

What You’ll Do

What You’ll Need

• A master’s degree in a Speech Language Pathology program
• Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC).
• Preferred: 1+ years in clinical practice with pediatric experience
• Ability to communicate effectively in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, be mobile within the assigned work area, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.
