Job summary

FlexStaff is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist in New York to evaluate and treat communication disorders, document progress, and counsel patients and families. You will participate in multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and deliver individualized therapy.

The role requires NY licensure, ASHA certification, and 1–3 years of relevant experience. Inpatient and outpatient settings are involved, with a focus on measurable outcomes and collaborative goal setting.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent required.
• Current NY State license as a Speech-Language Pathologist is required.
• ASHA Certificate is required, with any additional certifications as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic evaluations and screenings for patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Document care and maintain records as required; update records of evaluations and treatments.
• Prepare treatment plans and recommendations for patients.
• Assess and develop individualized care plans based on diagnosis and age.
• Discuss findings with patients and families to establish goals.
• Develop home and community-based programs; monitor response and adjust plan as needed.
• Terminate services when maximum benefit is reached and plan follow-up.
• Provide therapy using Speech-Language Pathology modalities and techniques.
• Participate in rehabilitation and departmental meetings; perform related duties as needed.

Position Responsibility:

• Performs diagnostic evaluations and speech/language screenings for in-patients and out-patients including discharge planning.
• Documents care and maintain records as required; maintains records on evaluations and treatments.
• Prepares treatment plans and recommendations.
• Screens and assesses patients based on diagnosis and age to develop an individualized plan of care.
• Discusses findings and collaborates with patients/family on the establishment of goals.
• Develops program to support performance in the home and community environment; monitors patient response to treatment and changes plan, as needed.
• Terminates services when maximum benefit is received and formulates follow up plan when indicated.
• Provides treatment utilizing Speech and Language Pathology modalities and techniques.
• Takes an active role in rehabilitation and departmental meetings.

Position Qualifications

• Master's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Current License to practice as a Speech Pathologist in New York State, and Current Clinical Competence - SPL (ASHA) Certification required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience, required.
