St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood, CO, seeks a Speech Language Pathologist-Clinical Fellow (CF) to work under a supervisor with CCCs, providing care to patients with neurological, swallowing, and communication disorders.
You will assess, diagnose, and treat across an interdisciplinary team, advancing toward CCCs and professional growth. This role requires a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology, a provisional license, and a plan to complete CCC within one year, plus BLS.
As our Speech Language Pathologist-Clinical Fellow (CF), you will work under the supervision of a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) with CCC, providing a continuum of services to patients with neurological, swallowing, speech-language, cognitive, and other related disorders.
Every day you will assess, diagnose, and treat communication and swallowing disorders through an interdisciplinary approach, utilizing the rehab process to promote and restore optimal patient health. You will actively engage in professional development to achieve your CCCs.
To be successful in this role, you will possess foundational knowledge in speech-language pathology, strong diagnostic and therapeutic skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary team. Evaluates patients referred to speech therapy by completing initial profile within time standards per department protocol.
Applies appropriate diagnostic and prognostic tests including but not limited to dysphagia, memory testing, aphasia testing, and cognitive deficits.
Establishes appropriate treatment plan with measurable and attainable goals and time frames by collaborating with patient, family, and other members of the health care team including discharge planning.
Performs a variety of therapeutic interventions including but not limited to dysphagia, speechlanguage, and cognitive skills.
Documents all patient care activities including evaluations, progress notes, and detailed treatment records per standards of practice and regulatory/thirdparty payer requirements.
Consults with supervising SLP to select the most appropriate activity and/or program for individual patients, based on patient needs and capabilities.
