Job Summary: Instruct students at the elementary level in assigned, certified area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide instruction in areas of certification and assignment using district approved curriculum and model.
  • Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students.
  • Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units and projects and communicate those objectives to students.
  • Prepare, administer and assess student performance to evaluate progress.
  • Prepare and plan for classroom instruction.
  • Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, district policies and administrative procedures.
  • Enforce all district policies and administrative procedures.
  • Refer students with academic or social challenges to district resource persons.
  • Provide a safe environment including instructions, as appropriate, in order to prevent injuries and damage.
  • Prepare for assigned classes based on state standards and show written evidence of preparation upon request of supervisor(s).
  • Supervise students as assigned.
  • Integrate technology and other materials to supplement instruction.
  • Communicate with parents and community to keep them informed about classroom events.
