Responsibilities

  • Contribute to Child Study and Multidisciplinary Conferences.
  • Develop IEPs and administer therapy per plan.
  • Coordinate with teachers and related staff.
  • Consult with parents via home visits, conferences, or calls.
  • Lead a Communications Enrichment program for eligible students.

Job description

The Wilson School District is looking for a certified Speech Language Pathologist for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. College graduates and Interns are always encouraged to apply. We offer a competitive hiring salary.

Our hiring salary is $50,117.59 to $60,117.59 per year based on experience. Other possible payment (if eligible) $3,000 for National Board-Certified Teacher.

At Wilson School District, we believe that education should be shaped by a sense of purpose. As the Speech and Language Pathologist, you help ensure students have access to high quality education by providing Speech and Language therapy services to students with speech and language handicaps.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Screening of all Kindergartners and new enrollees.
  • Perform speech and language evaluations in English and/or Spanish (with/without interpreter) to distinguish between developmental delay and second language acquisition.
  • Write diagnostic reports concerning results of assessment, prognosis for therapy and treatment recommendations.
  • Contribute information concerning student at Child Study and/or Multidisciplinary Conferences.
  • Develop individual educational plan and administer treatment according to plan specifications.
  • Coordinate efforts and encourage communication with other staff involved with the child, e.g., classroom teacher, learning disabilities, occupational therapy, art, music, etc.
  • Be available to parents to discuss progress or problems through home visits, parent conferences, phone calls, etc.
  • Conduct a Communications Enrichment program for those qualifying Special Education students.
Minimum Education And/Or Experience
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Speech and Hearing.
  • Arizona certification in speech and language therapy.
Preffered Education And/Or Experience
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Speech and Hearing with credit in Speech/Language practicum.
  • Arizona certification in speech and language therapy.
  • Prefer hearing screenings and passion for preschool aged children.

We are a Pre-K through 8th grade school district in Phoenix, Arizona, established as the seventh school district organized in Maricopa County in 1879 and named for Mr. W. J. Wilson, a school board member. The district name was changed in the mid-1930’s to Hawkins School. From Wilson to Hawkins to Ward to Skiff, the District was bought by Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and relocated to its current location in the early 1980’s and named Wilson Primary and Wilson Elementary, opening on Martin Luther King Day in 1985. The district boundaries cover an area from Roosevelt Street to the north; the Salt River to the south; 40th Street to the east; and 16th Street to the west.
