Job summary

Point Quest Group is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist for in-person work in Ottumwa, IA. You will provide school-based speech therapy to K-12 students, conduct assessments, and develop treatment plans to improve communication skills and access education.

You will collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams, maintain accurate records, and ensure IEP goals are met. A background check and licensure in Iowa are required.

Qualifications

• Current Speech Language Pathologist license in Iowa.
• Background check and TB clearance as required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct formalized assessments and determine eligibility and functioning level.
• Develop and coordinate treatment plans with interdisciplinary team members.
• Provide direct speech therapy aligned with IEP goals.
• Complete and maintain compliant IEPs and participate in reviews.
• Consult with teachers and families to support generalization of skills.
• Maintain therapy notes, assessment data, and progress documentation.
• Supervise SLPAs and monitor supervision hours if applicable.

About the Role:

Provide speech and language therapy services to students in K-12 school settings. You’ll conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and deliver direct therapy to help students improve communication skills and access their education. This role collaborates closely with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to maximize student outcomes.

• Conduct formalized and dynamic assessments to determine eligibility and level of functioning
• Develop and coordinate treatment plans with interdisciplinary team members
• Provide direct speech therapy services aligned with IEP goals
• Complete and maintain compliant IEPs; participate in annual and triennial reviews
• Consult with teachers and families to support generalization of communication skills
• Maintain accurate therapy notes, assessment data, and progress documentation
• Supervise and support SLPAs, including monitoring supervision hours (if applicable)

What We’re Looking For:

Must Have:

• Current Speech Language Pathologist license in Iowa
• DOJ/FBI Live Scan background and TB clearance
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication

Preferred:

• One year of experience in speech therapy
• Department of Education certification
• Knowledge of evidence-based practices and special education programs
• Experience with school-based caseload management
