Job summary

Oak Valley Hospital District in Oakdale, California is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to join our Inpatient and Outpatient Rehabilitation Services teams. Under general supervision and medical direction, the SLP screens, assesses, diagnoses and rehabilitates speech, language, swallowing, and cognitive-linguistic disorders across pediatric to geriatric populations.

This role requires California licensure, BLS, and at least one year of acute care experience; Masters degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
• Masters degree preferred
• Current California License as a Speech-Language Pathologist
• Current BLS certification
• At least one year previous acute care experience

Responsibilities

• Screen, identify, assess, interpret, diagnose and rehabilitate disorders of speech, language, swallowing function, and cognitive-linguistic disorders
• Provide care to inpatient and/or outpatient pediatric through geriatric populations
• Collaborate with rehabilitation teams to develop patient-centered treatment plans

Education

Oak Valley Hospital District is currently seeking a Speech Language Pathologist for our Inpatient and Outpatient Rehabilitation Services departments in Oakdale. This individual must have a passion for nursing excellence and be willing to provide outstanding patient and family supported care.

The Speech Language Pathologist, under general supervision and medical direction, screens, identifies, assesses, interprets, diagnoses, and rehabilitates disorders of speech, language, swallowing function, and cognitive-linguistic disorders.

This position requires providing care/service to an acutely ill (for the inpatient role) or outpatients (for the outpatient role) through rehabilitating pediatric through geriatric patient population in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional and/or developmental age of the individual served.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelors degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders; Masters degree preferred
• High school graduate or equivalent required
• Current California License as a Speech/Language Pathologist
• Current BLS certification
• At least one year previous acute care experience
