Job summary

Solterra Academy is seeking a Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) to join the Clinical Team and provide in-person speech-language services to students ages 5–22 with diverse needs. You will assess, diagnose, and tailor IEP-aligned therapies in a therapeutic school setting.

The role requires collaboration with educators, families, and staff, with a focus on progression, documentation, and compliance. Regular hours are Monday–Friday, in-person, with summer hours as listed, and opportunities for

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Speech and Language Pathology.
• Connecticut SLP licensure or pending.
• ASHA Certification or CFY in progress.
• CT 061 Certification or pending.
• CPR and TCI certifications.
• Experience with emotional/behavioral disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Screen, assess, diagnose, and treat speech and language disorders.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and IEP goals.
• Track and document student progress on IEP goals and communication.
• Conduct triennial evaluations and prepare reports within required timelines.
• Participate in PPT meetings and collaborate with primary teams.
• Partner with families and caregivers to support carryover of skills.
• Communicate effectively with staff using culturally responsive practices.
• Utilize TCI strategies and de-escalation techniques.
• Complete Medicaid documentation and service hour logs.
• May supervise college students for CFY or clinical field experience.

Description

Solterra Academy provides comprehensive special education services for students ages 5 to 22 who require intensive support due to emotional, behavioral, cognitive, developmental, and/or learning challenges. We are committed to creating a therapeutic, structured, and student-centered environment that supports the growth, independence, and success of every learner.

We are seeking a full-time Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our Clinical Team. In this role, you will work collaboratively with educators, clinicians, families, and support staff to assess, diagnose, and provide individualized speech and language services aligned with each student’s IEP. The ideal candidate is compassionate, organized, and comfortable working in a therapeutic school setting with students who have complex needs.

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM (In-Person)

Summer Hours

Monday to Friday 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM (In-Person)

Please note: This position requires a year-round commitment, including both the regular school year and our summer session. We do not offer summer-only employment.

• Experience working with students with emotional or behavioral disabilities preferred
