Job summary

Heartland Area Education Agency Johnston Regional Ed Center in Johnston, Iowa, is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist for a full-time 192-day contract for the 2027–28 school year.

Join a large Iowa service area supporting 150,000+ students across 58 districts and 3 charter schools. Licensure by the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners is required; Master’s in speech pathology is expected, with CCC preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in speech pathology or communications disorders.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary team members to support students’ communication needs.
• Conduct speech-language assessments relevant to the presenting concerns and meaningful in education/home contexts.
• Plan, implement, and monitor evidence-based interventions using various service delivery models.
• Support generalization of communication skills across settings through collaboration and consultation.
