Job summary

Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, NH is seeking a per diem Speech-Language Pathologist to join our Speech Therapy department. This position requires weekend coverage (minimum 12 hours per month) with increasing hours as coverage demands change. The role emphasizes acute care experience and collaborative care across disciplines. The successful candidate will assess and treat, educate patients and families, and work with a multidisciplinary team to improve communication outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.
  • NH Speech-language Pathologist license required.
  • CCC-SLP certification required.
  • CCC-A certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments to identify speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Implement treatment plans using various techniques.

Job Summary

Join Wentworth-Douglass Hospital/MGB in Dover, NH and be part of our Speech Therapy department. We have a per diem position available; minimum of 12 hours per month required on weekends (2 days) with increased hours as coverage needs increase & per census. Acute Care experience required.

Essential Functions
  • -Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
  • -Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals.
  • -Implement treatment plans through a variety of techniques and modalities.
  • -Monitor and document patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • -Educate patients and their families about speech and language disorders, and provide strategies for improving communication.
  • -Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.
Qualifications

Education Master's Degree Speech Therapy required Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No

Licenses and Credentials
  • -NH Speech-language Pathologist license required
  • -Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] required
  • -Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology [CCC-SLP] - American Speech Language Hearing Association required
  • -Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology [CCC-A] - American Speech Language Hearing Association preferred
Experience

speech pathology experience and acute care experience required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • - Familiarity of diagnostic assessments for speech language.
  • - Employee must have strong interpersonal skills.
  • - Ability to incorporate new clinical procedures sufficiently to perform clinical services independently.
  • - Ability to perform functions associated with contemporary audiology and speech-language pathology scope of practice.
  • - Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
  • - Knowledge of state standards, federal and state regulations.
