Emerald Healthcare & Rehab Cozad is seeking a compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist to join our skilled nursing team in Cozad, Nebraska.

The SLP will evaluate and treat speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in a geriatric population, with collaboration across nurses, physicians, and therapists.

Candidates should hold a master’s degree in speech-language pathology, Nebraska licensure, and (preferably) CCC-SLP credentials, and possess strong communication skills.

Formación

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Nebraska.
• CCC-SLP certification preferred.
• Experience in skilled nursing or geriatric settings desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with residents and families.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessments.
• Maintain progress notes and communicate with the interdisciplinary team.
• Educate residents, families, and staff on speech, language, and swallowing issues.

Job Title: Speech-Language Pathologist

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team at Emerald Healthcare & Rehab Cozad, a leading skilled nursing facility. The SLP will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in our diverse resident population. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in geriatric care, excellent interpersonal skills, and a commitment to improving the quality of life for our residents.

Work Environment

This position operates in a clinical healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Assessment and Evaluation:
  • o Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess speech, language, cognitive communication, and swallowing disorders.
  • o Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and resident needs.
• Treatment and Intervention:
  • o Implement and monitor therapeutic interventions to improve communication skills and swallowing functions.
  • o Adapt treatment techniques to meet the specific needs and goals of each resident.
• Documentation and Reporting:
  • o Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of resident progress, treatment plans, and clinical notes.
  • o Prepare detailed reports and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team, residents, and their families.
• Collaboration and Teamwork:
  • o Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, physicians, occupational therapists, and physical therapists, to provide holistic care.
  • o Participate in care planning meetings and contribute to the development of care strategies for residents.
• Education and Training:
  • o Provide education and training to residents, families, and staff on speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • o Stay current with best practices and advancements in the field of speech-language pathology.
• Compliance and Standards:
  • o Adhere to facility policies, state, and federal regulations, and professional standards of practice.
  • o Ensure all practices comply with healthcare and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Nebraska.
• Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
• Experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric setting is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care and a commitment to improving the quality of life for residents.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and transfer patients with assistance.
• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
• Adequate visual and auditory acuity to assess and interact with residents.
