Community Action Corporation of South Texas is seeking a Speech/Language Pathologist in Corpus Christi, Texas. The role involves providing communication therapy services, conducting assessments, and training for children and families. The ideal candidate must possess a Master's Degree in Communication Disorders, be licensed in Texas, and have bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish).
The position requires experience in pediatric therapy and involves various physical and non-physical demands in a dynamic environment.
Responsible for providing communication therapy services for CACOST ECI clients. Responsible for the identification, assessment, diagnosis and treatment of children in need of speech-language-hearing services. Responsible for participating in the initial and ongoing team assessments, providing home and center-based training opportunities for participating children and their families, and accessing in case management activities. Conducts in-service training for colleagues, functions as a specialty resource for team members and their caseloads. Responsibilities also include other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
If a preliminary offer of employment is extended, a physical will be required before the offer can be accepted.
Light to medium physical duties include standing, walking, reaching, bending, hearing, talking, kneeling, floor sitting, pulling, reaching, grasping, pushing, stooping, standing, sitting, climbing, occasional running, and the ability to move with agility in order to carry out IFSP services. Must be able to lift up to thirty-five (35) pounds. Must have 3 years of pediatric experience.
Must have the ability to work in variable environments related to temperature, humidity, degrees of cleanliness/order and around other varied environmental factors and elements. Non-physical demands include performing multiple tasks simultaneously, the ability to meet multiple deadlines, judgment decisions, emergency situations, irregular schedules, and working as a leader with other employees and client teams.
