Job summary

Neuroscience Group is seeking a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist to join our therapies team. The SLP evaluates, diagnoses, and treats speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, swallowing, and fluency disorders across the lifespan, with a focus on neurologically-based conditions.

The role collaborates with physicians, neurologists, and other therapists to develop individualized treatment plans, educate patients, and ensure high-quality care.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • CCC-SLP certification from ASHA.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in Wisconsin.
  • Minimum of five years of clinical experience preferred, ideally in a medical or neurological setting.
  • Expertise in evaluation and treatment of neurologically-based communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to manage a flexible caseload.
  • Proficient in electronic medical record (EMR) documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, voice, cognition, and swallowing functions using standardized and non-standardized tools.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on findings and patient goals.
  • Provide direct therapy to patients with neurological disorders (stroke, TBI, Parkinson’s, ALS, dementia, MS).
  • Conduct dysphagia assessments and referrals for VFSS as warranted.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care.
  • Document evaluations, treatment plans, progress, and discharge summaries in EMR.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on communication strategies and safe swallowing techniques.
  • Participate in care team meetings, case reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, ASHA Code of Ethics, and state licensing requirements.
  • Engage in continuing education and professional development.

Neuroscience Group is growing! We are currently looking for a Full Time Speech-Language Pathologist to join our therapies team. The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is a key member of the interdisciplinary care team at Neuroscience Group, responsible for the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, swallowing, and fluency disorders. The SLP works collaboratively with physicians, neurologists, occupational and physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that support the communication and swallowing needs of patients across the lifespan, with a focus on neurologically-based conditions.

For over thirty years, Neuroscience Group has provided excellent neurologic care for the Fox Valley and Northeast Wisconsin. Ours is the only medical facility in the area that combines neurosurgery, neurology, orthopedic spine surgery, interventional and non-interventional pain management, and physical therapy. Our practice has grown to over 50 providers and serves patients in nine outlying clinics scattered throughout the region. REQUIREMENTS
  • CONDUCT COMPREHENSIVE EVALUATIONS OF SPEECH, LANGUAGE, VOICE, COGNITION, AND SWALLOWING FUNCTIONS USING STANDARDIZED AND NON-STANDARDIZED ASSESSMENT TOOLS.
  • DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT INDIVIDUALIZED TREATMENT PLANS BASED ON CLINICAL FINDINGS, PATIENT GOALS, AND BEST PRACTICES.
  • PROVIDE DIRECT THERAPY SERVICES TO PATIENTS WITH A VARIETY OF NEUROLOGICAL DISORDERS, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO STROKE, TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY, PARKINSON’S DISEASE, ALS, DEMENTIA, AND MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS.
  • CONDUCT DYSPHAGIA ASSESSMENTS, INCLUDING BEDSIDE EVALUATIONS AND REFERRALS FOR VFSS AS WARRANTED.
  • COLLABORATE WITH PHYSICIANS AND INTERDISCIPLINARY TEAM MEMBERS TO COORDINATE PATIENT CARE.
  • DOCUMENT EVALUATIONS, TREATMENT PLANS, PROGRESS NOTES, DISCHARGE SUMMARIES, AND COMMUNICATION WITH MEDICAL PROVIDERS IN ACCORDANCE WITH PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS AND ORGANIZATIONAL POLICIES.
  • EDUCATE PATIENTS, FAMILIES, AND CAREGIVERS ON COMMUNICATION STRATEGIES, SAFE SWALLOWING TECHNIQUES, AND HOME EXERCISE PROGRAMS.
  • PARTICIPATE IN CARE TEAM MEETINGS, CASE REVIEWS, AND QUALITY IMPROVEMENT INITIATIVES.
  • MAINTAIN COMPLIANCE WITH ALL RELEVANT LAWS, REGULATIONS, AND STANDARDS, INCLUDING HIPAA, ASHA CODE OF ETHICS, AND STATE LICENSING REQUIREMENTS.
  • STAY CURRENT ON EVIDENCE-BASED PRACTICES THROUGH CONTINUING EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • MASTER’S DEGREE IN SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY FROM AN ACCREDITED PROGRAM.
  • CERTIFICATE OF CLINICAL COMPETENCE IN SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY (CCC-SLP) FROM THE AMERICAN SPEECH-LANGUAGE-HEARING ASSOCIATION (ASHA).
  • LICENSED (OR ELIGIBLE FOR LICENSURE) AS A SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST IN THE STATE OF WISCONSIN.
  • MINIMUM OF FIVE (5) YEARS OF CLINICAL EXPERIENCE PREFERRED, IDEALLY IN A MEDICAL OR NEUROLOGICAL SETTING.
  • EXPERTISE IN THE EVALUATION AND TREATMENT OF NEUROLOGICALLY-BASED COMMUNICATION AND SWALLOWING DISORDERS.
  • STRONG INTERPERSONAL AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS TO INTERACT EFFECTIVELY WITH PATIENTS, FAMILIES, AND CLINICAL TEAM MEMBERS.
  • ABILITY TO WORK INDEPENDENTLY AND MANAGE A FLEXIBLE CASELOAD.
  • PROFICIENT IN ELECTRONIC MEDICAL RECORD (EMR) DOCUMENTATION.
  • DEMONSTRATED COMMITMENT TO PATIENT-CENTERED CARE AND CONTINUOUS LEARNING.
