The role evaluates and directs hospital-based speech-language pathology programs to help patients regain function and maximize independence. Candidates must have a board-certified training program in Speech-Language Pathology and California SLP licensure, with BLS certification required upon hire.

Evaluate, plan, direct, and administer medically prescribed speech/language pathology programs in the hospital to restore function and prevent disability following disease or injury. Assist patients to reach their maximum performance and assume a place in society while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. Perform administrative duties and participate in department performance improvement, infection control, safety, and education programs. The staff speech and language therapist may be assigned to orient staff and students and to assume the duties and responsibilities of the supervisor in the absence of that individual.

Pay range: $48.79 – $75.74 per hour. The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
