Job summary

TheraPeds Partners is seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a full-time, school-based role in Apalachicola, FL for the 2026–2027 school year. The position is on-site with a manageable caseload and guaranteed hours, supporting students across elementary to high school levels.

You will provide direct therapy, conduct evaluations, implement IEP goals, and collaborate with teachers, families, and district staff to promote effective communication skills in a school setting.

Qualifications

  • Master's or PhD degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.
  • State license as an SLP required.
  • ASHA/National licensure required for practice (CCC preferred).
  • Experience with children in a school setting advantageous.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct speech and language therapy to students individually and in small groups.
  • Conduct evaluations and assessments.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals.
  • Monitor progress and adjust interventions based on data.
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and other school staff.
  • Support AAC and communication needs; collect progress data.
  • Complete documentation and progress reports; participate in IEP/reevaluation meetings.

Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – School-Based

Apalachicola, FL | Full-Time | 2026–2027 School Year | On-Site

TheraPeds Partners is seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team for a full-time, school-based opportunity in Apalachicola, FL for the 2026–2027 school year.

You’ll work with students with support from both the district and the TheraPeds team.

Position Details
  • Full-time: 36-38 hours per week
  • School year: August 2026–May 2027
  • Grades: Elementary or Elementary - High School
  • Setting: On-site, in-person
  • Pay: $60–$80/hour, based on experience and employment arrangement
  • Weekly compensation is based on 37.5 hours
  • Guaranteed hours, including designated documentation, planning, and administrative time

What You’ll Do

As a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist, you’ll help students develop the speech, language, and communication skills needed to access their education and participate successfully in the school environment.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Providing direct speech and language therapy services to students individually and in small groups
  • Conducting speech and language evaluations and assessments
  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring individualized IEP goals
  • Evaluating student progress and adjusting intervention strategies based on student needs and data
  • Providing consultation and support to teachers, special education staff, and families
  • Supporting students with articulation, phonology, receptive and expressive language, fluency, voice, social/pragmatic communication, and other communication needs
  • Supporting students who use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), as appropriate
  • Monitoring student performance and collecting data to measure progress
  • Completing timely and accurate documentation and progress reports
  • Participating in IEP, eligibility, reevaluation, and interdisciplinary team meetings
  • Managing assigned student caseloads and required documentation
  • Collaborating with teachers, special education staff, families, therapists, administrators, and other school professionals
  • Providing case management services, as assigned
Physical Requirements

School-based therapy is active and hands-on. The SLP must be able to safely participate with students in a variety of school environments and activities. Physical responsibilities may include sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, transitioning to and from the floor, and lifting or assisting with students, materials, or equipment as appropriate to the position.

All responsibilities will be performed in accordance with assigned duties, district safety requirements, and applicable accommodations.

  • Master’s or PhD degree from a Speech-Language Pathology program
  • State License as Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Department of Education Licensure as a SLP
  • National License: ASHA
  • Licensing with the State Department of Education, where required
  • CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence) preferred
  • CF-SLP placement may be available
  • Experience working with children
  • Experience in a school setting preferred, but not required
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in use of technology
  • Fingerprint background clearance
  • Ability to collaborate with school staff and parents with a demonstrated ability to exercise a high level of tact and discretion in both internal and external communications
