Responsibilities

  • Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition. Establishes a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient/family according to their capabilities and desires.
  • Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits. Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services and treatment setting.
  • Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs.
  • Supervises and delegates the care provided by therapy assistants according to established licensing laws, state regulations and practice standards.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain and ensure confidentiality of patient information and medical records.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of appropriate treatment for patients.
  • Actively participate in seminars, conferences, in-service, committees, policy revision, and other duties as requested.

Reports To : Physical Therapy Director

Full-time, part-time, PRN

FLSA Classification:Part-Time , PRN, Non Exempt, Hourly $31.65 - $50.75

Essential Functions:

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum Required Education : Master's degree in Speech Pathology or Communication Disorders.
  • Required Licensure/Certification: Current certification with Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies to practice Speech Pathology required.
  • BLS through the American Heart Association
