Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Speech Language Pathology Assistant to support students in a charter school setting in Chandler, AZ. You will assist the supervising SLP with direct treatment, screenings, data collection, documentation, and collaboration with teachers and parents.

Job description

• Assist the Speech Language Pathologist in providing speech and language services to students in a charter school setting
• Support clinical/educational services, direct treatment, screenings, consultation, collaboration, data collection, and documentation
• Conduct prevention and pre-referral education for teachers and staff
• Complete student screenings using protocols specified by the supervising SLP, without interpretation
• Consult with teachers, school staff, and parents as needed
• Provide direct treatment by following written individualized education treatment plans
• Offer intervention strategies to staff to support students' speech and language goals
• Complete required daily documentation
• Assist the SLP with data collection and tallying for assessment purposes, without interpreting data
• Attend parent conferences and IEP meetings with supervising SLP permission and written documentation
• Perform duties and responsibilities assigned by management

Requirements

• Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred from an accredited institution
• Completion of a certified training program for Speech Language Pathology Assistant
• Valid Speech Language Pathology Assistant license from the Arizona Department of Health Services
• Preferred 1+ years of experience in a school setting
• Proficiency in the use of technology
• Experience working with school-aged children
• Knowledge of pertinent codes, policies, regulations, and/or laws
• Ability to perform basic math calculations using fractions, percentages, and/or ratios
• Ability to read manuals and write documents in prescribed formats
• Ability to schedule activities, collate data, and use basic job-related equipment
• Ability to work independently with diverse individuals and groups
• Strong communication with diverse groups; adherence to safety practices; ability to meet deadlines and schedules
• US work authorization required; OPT/CPT candidates accepted
• Successful criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance required
